All equipment and anchorages desgned in accordance with this Standard shall be used only as herein described. Variations in use or modifications ol its designed anchorages ahall bc approved, prior to use, by a ngisten,d professional engineer experienced in the design and installation of such equipment.
All loads and structural attachments to the building shall be appnwrd by a registered architect or a registered professional engineer.
2.1.1 InstallatIon Owner. When the equipment is to becontinuoush used at a specific location, the registered professional engineer (or the building shall provide to the owner of each installation the following materials constituting the institllidion design record:
(a) architectural and structural drawings of those portions of the building contacted by the equipment or supporting the equipment
(b) engineering drawings of the equipment anchorages and their means of attachment or support
(c) cakulations or test reports to verify comphance of the design with this Standard
(d) a certification by a registered professional engineer that the equipment has been initially installed in compliance with this Standard and that the equipment is compatible %rith the building
2.2 DesIgn Requirements
The design requirenients for each irsslallation shall be based on the limitations (stresses, deflection.s, etc.) established by nationally recognized standards promulgated by the agencies listed in pam. 1.5, or by equivalent Standards found acceptable to the agency havIng jurisdiction. rhe design standards used shall be recorded in the installation design record.
2.3 SpecifIc Building Design Requirements
2.3.2 General Requirements. All buildingsnn which or in which equipment will be installed for window cleaning and related services shall be designed and constructed to sustain all the loads imposed on the building by the equipment. with stresses or dellections not to exceed those permitted Lw nationalh recognized standards referred to in this Standard.
